TALENT SHOW?
Let's finally get organized for a Theatre JM Talent Show entry!! It's in late January. I'll coordinate a pre-written scene (I've got a couple, and yes, they are corny) which would only take an hour to get up and ready. OR, I'd love to get an original slapstick scene together if a core group of students are ready to grow a bit more artistically. This would be a five hour commitment over the next 60 days. YOUNG ACTRESS NEEDED, AMAZING SCRIPT
JON HASSLER THEATER in Plainview, MN is seeking a preteen actress for their production of THE PILLOWMAN, Martin McDonagh's black comedy about a writer of dark, Brothers Grimm-like children's stories and his subsequent arrest and interrogation by the police in a totalitarian state. The role is written as eight years old, but could be played as older. The character appears in only one or two scenes. Child actors will need a high level of maturity and parental support to undertake this challenging material. The show runs Thursdays-Sundays from January 5th through February 4th, 2007. BTW, Chicago performances were supposed to close after 18 months (after making $1.2 million EVERY week!), then moving that set and cast to LA, but instead they've AGAIN extended the run until spring -- or longer -- and are instead casting for an entirely new company for the LA production.

HSM
Children's Theater just extended their HSM run, after their waiting list was longer than the seats available. Hmmm. Carla Noack, my theater sounding board, just saw the video and loved it.
