HSM Auditions

Auditions are Tues OR Wed, we'll be done by 6pm each day.

1. Vocal will be looking at range and warmth
2. Dance will look at crispness, energy, quick learning, and then "personality"
3. Act will look at energy, "look", "personality," and experience

As always, your goal should be to have an audition where you present yourself as best you can, letting the directors see how that matches the roles. When you walk out, that is the only thing you had control over. If your voice only goes in a specific range you are only going to be considered for roles with that range. Now apply that concept across the spectrum of attributes needed. While some auditioners may have had the skill set perfect for a specific show in the past, a different show requires a different skill set; don't get hung up on what you can't change.

There are few "leads" as the show is driven by Gabriella, Troy, Ryan, and Sharpay, with Taylor and Chad in supporting roles. Darbus, Jack Scott ("narrator" role to add continuity from the screenplay), and Coach add in to that mix too. Otherwise, the majority of the cast is broken into jocks & cheerleaders, brainiacs, skaters, and thespians, with few titled characters. What the show does offer potential cast members is great music, fun energetic dancing, an experienced production team, and a powerful audience attractor.
