Stage Combat
Lots of fun in Stage Combat classes. I'm especially excited about working it into Oklahoma for the two fights. This fall I'll do a series of workshops to start getting the ideas into our heads.
Remember Lizi Shea's performance in Lanesboro on July 30th at 7pm. (any progress report, Lizi?)
Theatre inequity
JMHS student population: 1600
JMHS theatre class sections: 1
Fairfax County, VA HS population: 1200
theatre class sections: 14
Not at all unusual - I'll post more stats and you can start to see that what's happening in Rochester with theatre education isn't happening anywhere else in the country -- no one else would offer 1 class, honors only, in the spring, to upper-level students.
gggggggggggggggg (I broke my "g" button as a monkey in David Ives' "Words Words Words" scene and need to reattach it sometimes -- lol!!!)

Our presentation will include demonstrations of most of the classes we participated in throughout the Conservatory. They include stage etiquette, stage makeup, voice, improvisation, acting, movement, hip-hop, and ballroom dancing. Yeah! I'm doing the demonstration of ballroom dancing with one of my lovely friends, Micah!!! We are doing swing-dance! After the presentations, we will perform 4 scenes from Dancing at Lughnasa. The show should last for about an hour. There is a reception afterwards, with cookies I'm told! It takes about an hour to get to Lanesboro from Rochester. No construction on the way there (anymore). Please come!!
How can theatre classes become more available in Rochester? Any specific steps you want us to take Mr. Decker?
