Bios
In the program will be cast biographies of each cast member. A performance bio usually has the actor's name, character, training, past roles/performances, and special thanks. Could you please write about 30 words describing yourself, your role, your experience, your thanks to . . . and so on. Below are some examples as a guide. Either enter yours on edecker.blogspot.com as an anonymous comment, e-mail it to ericjohndecker@yahoo.com, or hand it to me at rehearsal.

Robert Croghan (Hamlet, Chorus): After being in "You Can't Take It With You", "Babes in Arms", and "Once Upon A Mattress", Robert is making another debut and enjoying every minute of it. Robert would like to thank his parents for all the racket they had to put up with.
22 Comments:
Connor Meyers (Mitch Mahoney): graduates this year. But he takes it like his character would: like a man. He's played small roles in 3 JM plays, and 1 JM musical: Thoroughly Modern Millie. This is his first musical where he gets to sing in English. It should be a doozy.
Caitlin Mayr (Rona Lisa Peretti): Cait is extremly enthused about her final production at JM. She's very grateful to have been a part of the JM Theatre family for these four years and to finally play something other than the antagonist. Huzzah!
Kjirsten Savage (Chorus): K.J. is a junior this year and very excited to be performing in her third Theatre JM production. Past roles including Alice, in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and The Auditioner in The Good Doctor. She would like to thank her family and Samantha Stephens for all their support.
Elizabeth Pankratz (Chorus): Elizabeth, a senior, is thrilled to be able to add this production to her past experiences on the JM stage (two marvelous musicals and one phenomenal play). Because it's her last year at JM it's been a somewhat bittersweet experience, but she's enjoyed every minute of it. She'd like to thank her amazing family for all of the love and support they've shown her over the past four years.
Wyatt Sander (Douglas Panch): Wyatt, a senior this year, is thrilled to be in yet another theatre JM production. Yet he is also sad that this will be his last. He wishes the best to all past, present, and future cast and crew of the JM productions. Keep breaking those legs.
Sophia Goodner (Olive's Mom, Chorus): This is Sophia's third year in Theatre JM, but her first time in the cast. She is a junior and is hoping that the musical turns out as great as she imagines it will.
Rebecca Rose(Costumes)is excited to be doing costumes this year for the first time! She has previously appeared in Enemy of the People, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and The Good Doctor at JM and is now taking a break from the stage to make the cast look fabulous.
John-Michael Eberhard (Leaf Coneybear): John-Michael is in his first year in John Marshall this year, and was very exited to see that he had made it into JM Theatre. Past acting experience has included middle school musicals, and some elementary school plays, if they count for anything. John-Michael would like to thank his family for being so supportive of him, as he has stressed them out continually.
Meg Kuhlman (Chorus): Meg is a senior this year and feels to so lucky to a part of this wonderful show! She has been in many productions of Theatre JM, including The Lorax, Enemy of The People, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and The Good Doctor, and Oklahoma. Though she's leaving the JM stage, she knows she'll never forget the great experiences or people in this wonderful group. Meg would like to thank her family for helping and supporting her for the past four years, and hopes everyone enjoys the show!
Ben Stevens (Chip Tolentino): Ben, a sophomore, is glad to return to Theatre JM after having a blast in The Good Doctor last year. He would like to thank his family and wishes the best to this year's Theatre JM seniors, including his sister. Also, he hopes the audience members who get a treat from him will enjoy it!
Sarah Stevens (Olive Ostrovsky): Sarah, a senior, is so thankful for all of the amazing experiences she has had in Theatre JM! She has gotten to be in many JM productions including Rehearsal for Murder, Oklahoma, Enemy of the People, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and The Good Doctor. She is excited to live out her last JM production as Olive and enjoy the ride along with the rest of the wonderful cast and crew. She would like to thank her family for all of the support they have given and hopes that everyone enjoys the bee!
Laura Herbers (Chorus): Laura is so excited to return to Theatre JM, this year as a junior. After previously appearing in Thoroughly Modern Millie, she took the year off last year to assistant direct Fiddler on the Roof at John Adams Middle School, but takes the stage this year with lots of energy! Laura would like to thank her family for all of their support and boxes of crackers. She would also like to add that she loves penguins. More than anyone.
Anthony Schliesman (Chorus): is making his 5th and final performance on the John Marshall stage. After being an understudy, a cowboy, a drunk, a Chinese singer, a poor "Maritime entertainment" drowner, and a young man becoming a grown man, it's been both a long, yet very short road. He hopes this is the best performance ever and tells everyone to break a leg!
Jinq-Ching Vuong (Chorus): is an exchange student from Germany and extremly excited participating in "The Spelling Bee" at JM. She is a Junior and has zero experience regarding musicals and looks forward to changing that.
Mulki Abdi (costumes): This is Mulkis first year in a Theater Production. She is excited to put together the costumes for the cast and is having a blast while doing it also!
Amanda Mayberry (Stage Manager): This is Amanda’s third year in Theater JM. Since freshmen year, she has been in the past shows's running crew, but this year she is enjoying being part of the production as this year’s Stage Manager. She has loved every minute of working with the amazing cast and crew and wishes everyone to break a leg!
Character Biography
Jodie Bratager (Logainne SchwartzandGrubenierre): is very excited that she got this opportunity to be in the play especially since it’s her first play at JM! Her main hobby is singing, she loves it, it’s her passion, and it’s what she hopes to do as her occupation. Logainne is one of the spellers who have had to cope with having gay fathers ever since her Mother moved to Kansas, MO. Her fathers have put a lot of pressure on her, which stresses her out immensely! She is afraid that if she doesn’t win she will disappoint the Dad’s who her so-called friends mock! She also is determined to win, because she thinks if she wins the kids at home will stop teasing her and gain more respect for her. Past roles include Glinda in “The Wizard of Oz”, Jasmine in “Aladdin”, Marry Poppins in “Marry Poppins”, Juanita Fandango in “Wagon Wheels A’rollin”, and many others. I would like to thank my parents and Mr. Decker who have helped me do the best of my abilities!
Sam Gove (Carl Grubenierre): Sam is super pumped to be in this years musical. He was in last years play The Good Doctor and can't wait for the show night of this musical, he says hes: 1st option (gay to be gay.) 2nd option (happy he got the part he got.)He would also like to thank his parents for the support, his friends for help with lines, and Anthony Schliesman's mom for giving him rides to practice.
Megan Hansen (Marcy Park): was born in Paraguay, South America. Right away, there was acting, singing, and just being paraguayan to add on to her list of many talents. At the young age of six months, Megan moved to Minnesota to persue a career in acting and singing. Megan really likes acting in plays. She also likes acting when she's not in plays. Speaking of plays, Megan hopes you enjoy this one!
Hannah Tamminga (Costumes): is thrilled to be working on costumes for this year's musical. She is a sophomore, and it is her first year doing costumes. She worked on build crew last year for The Good Doctor, and is having an amazing time costuming the cast!
Emily Cook (Chorus): This is Emily's first production with the JM Theatre. She has previously been Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music, and the chorus in Oklahoma, as well as some community theater productions. She has had an amazing experience and hopes for many more!
Bory Chhunn is very thrilled to be apart of this musical. Having previous experience with last year's play (The Good Doctor), he is extremely excited to have a role as a Gay dad in a musical where everything is lively and upbeat. Dancing and acting are his passions and he's loving every minute of this! Sadly it's his senior year so this will be his last performance at John Marshall. This won't stop him from continuing his passions so be sure to check him out in future productions everywhere!
