Update

Oh my. Absences are hurting.

I appreciate your attention during the run through with Deb today. Stela and I noticed some obvious holes that needed her help which weren't apparent before our run-through last Friday. We'll be seeing more of Deb and I appreciate her flexibility in scaling to our needs. Please let her know we value her talents!

The calendars were posted before auditions. We need everyone, everyone, EVERYONE there. Too many are stretching too far the understanding given to "excused" absences. You need to work harder to be at rehearsal.

Songs and line cuts are difficult, I know, for the individual actors. You must understand that Stela and I make these from the perspective of the flow and tone of the entire show, not of individuals in roles or their ability to sing. Every choice we've made has involved a great amount of time meeting, plunking out melodies, and discussing why in depth. Please ask us if you have any questions.

Set Construction is every day from 3 to 7:30. Ask some friends to be there.

When discussing costumes with Ms. Laude, you must tip her off to any character/costume traits. For example, let her know if you're pregnant, a female playing a male role, a thief, have a quick costume change need, etc.

On Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, we have very specific goals:
1. Brand New World
2. Penny a Tune
3. Sound of Love
4. Choreo Democratic opening dance (Wednesday 4:30)
5. Polish Greenhorns (Wednesday 4:30)
6. Learn Jewish dance -- everyone (Wednesday 4:30)

On Friday, I've asked Ms. Nieland to come to rehearsal to help me with the street scenes.

Oh, and one more thing. We lost six needed hours of rehearsal to snow days. We can't pretend that doesn't affect the production. How about Monday, April 3, from 3-7pm? and Tuesday, April 4, from 3-7pm? And, finally, April 8 from 9am to 12 Noon. I'm open to other suggestions; I'd rather not have our show go up still wishing I had those hours back. . .

I agree! Absences are HURTING! But what else is hurting is seeing so many people sitting around talking during rehearsal when you could be MEMORIZING! Get on that. YOU have about 2 weeks of actual rehearsal time left...then you perform for a REAL, LIVE AUDIENCE! Get cracking! Stela
