Weekend!
Oh I'm feeling much better. Choreography is really fun and energetic and it's obvious you're having a blast with it. People are pretty much showing up. Today I got to block some of the smaller scenes and HAVE FUN with trying different things and being creative and laughing and working with brilliant, dedicated, willing students. Not bad at all. I guess my "job" the past 5 months has been Logistical Coordinator moreso than Director, but now I'm just starting to remember that I do the logistics just so I can then play as Director. I love my job. So, thank you, you who are showing up and putting in the hours -- especially off-stage. Whatever success the show is, it's already apparent to me it will be because of the strong support of so many people. Cast: please share your appreciation with the crew, ADs, techies, parents, friends -- I'm convinced what will happen won't happen without them.
Remember the schedule change: Speech Big 9 is now March 19, not March 12. So musical practice for March 19 is cancelled, and there is choreography practice from 5 - 8 on March 12.

COMMONWEAL THEATRE COMPANY OFFERS SUMMER CONSERVATORY FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
LANESBORO, MN — The Commonweal Theatre Company of Lanesboro will offer an intensive two-week training program to all high school students with an interest in performing from July 17-30, 2007 .
In the 15 years since its inception, the program has exposed over 200 students to quality theatre training and has been enthusiastically praised by participants. As one student remarked, “After being in the Conservatory, it’s so much easier for me to open up and express myself.”
“This is a unique opportunity for high school students from all over the region,” said Conservatory director Lisa Weaver . “By fostering an environment of trust and ensemble, we try to emphasize the possibilities for self-discovery that are inherent in learning about theatre.”
Included in the curriculum this year will be acting, voice, movement, improvisation, and audition technique. Classes will be held from 9:30 to 3:30 , Tuesday through Saturday, with a free public performance of the students’ work on Monday, July 30 at 7 p.m. at the Commonweal’s new theatre in downtown Lanesboro.
“Giving students the opportunity to take classes and perform in our new, state-of-the-art facility makes this year especially exciting,” added Weaver. “They’ll be among the first actors to use the space!”
All classes are taught by the professional artists who make up the Commonweal’s Resident Company, supplemented by seasonal actors who have come to the Commonweal from all over the United States with a variety of performing backgrounds and teaching strengths.
The cost is $150 per student, and includes four complementary tickets to each of the Commonweal’s summer productions. This summer, students and their families will have the opportunity to see the gothic spoof, “The Mystery of Irma Vep” and the classic thriller, “Wait Until Dark,” both of which will be followed by a talk-back with the actors.
Previous theatre experience is not required. Admission is by application only, and is open to any student entering ninth grade through graduating seniors. For an application or information about scholarship opportunities, call Lisa Weaver at 507-467-2905 x204 or email lisa@commonwealtheatre.org. More details can also be found at www.commonwealtheatre.org.

Do you think that you could have set construction times listed that you know of? i would like to work and just don't know when to show up! Thanks!
I'd sure like to and will continue to try doing this. I'm waiting for the next update from Joel. . .
Hey everyone, Andy got his hair cut!
Oh boy! I'm anxious to see it!
I would like to take this opprotunity to advocate the importance of SHOWERING and DEODORANT on choreo nights.
I totally agree with Paul.
The deodorant or perfume you may have put on in the morning is well gone when it's going on 5 let alone 8 no matter how long it supposedly lasts.
Choreography gets intense, enough said.
I'm really excited about how the play is coming along. Great job to everyone and keep up the great work!
