Love's first flare explodes in a fiery light,
devouring all, hungry consuming blaze;
misteps fuse into dances by its might,
slights unseen from sparkling sheen of burning haze.

Quenched and sated, passion's embers now glow,
coursing slower through a channel cut deep;
eddies swirl, rocks arise in the lower flow,
without a source it slows to a seep.

Then gravity asserts, drags, pulls us to earth
and weighs us down with lessons learned and sage;
as sand trickling on rough stone reveals worth,
so too, do we emerge polished with age.

Wisdom breezes in as backs start to bow:
There's no heaven without you, my solemn vow.

Locks fair and fine halo a tender heart;
myriad greens and blues screen depth’s delight;
Sacred softness, priceless treasure of art –
secreted within through exclusive right.

Wings hidden, invisible to the eye;
present lithe limb and sculpted shoulder;
angelic voice soaring up through the sky:
Paradise to the mortal beholder

Two brilliant white gates are shiny and bright
Revealing the joy of rapture in mirth;
The bells begin to peal: the world is right,
A gift from above, a potent rebirth.

Inspired by God, offered on your face
Agony of judgment, glory of grace.
