Me and Willy


Outside the Lincoln Park Zoo. . .finished make-up today (whew!) with Puck from Midsummer: ears, imp nose, blocked eyebrows, white highlights with green shadows. . . can't wait to be back, working on plays again!

Blurry photo of me in the slapstick bit as the waiter. Not nearly as incriminating as me as Thisbe in Midsummer with dress and wig! I didn't bring a camera this summer, but sometimes someone will send me a pic.

Three plays last week, old age make-up due Monday am. Pretty bland, but here's my work description:

Work Description

Eric Decker OLD AGE (Captain Horster)

1. Blemish correction not necessary.

2. Apply darker base BN p-5 Old Age with 60° polyurethane sponge

3. Apply character shadow to sculpt hollows as illustrated. Use misty violet color to deeper hollows. Powder.

4. Apply highlight to sculpt bones, neck tendons, nose, sags as illustrated. Powder.

5. Apply character shadow to folds/wrinkles, including: nasolabial folds, epicanthic fold (at sharp angle), cheeks, chin, crow’s feet, eyebrow worry wrinkles, forehead (hard edge at bottom, blending up). Use misty violet as needed to deepen. Powder.

6. Apply highlight, including: below and above nasolabial fold, outer top of epicanthic fold, forehead wrinkles.

7. stiple true red onto nose tip, as sun spots across cheeks, above brow, top of forehead, earlobes.

8. stiple black/violet across stubble line

9. stipple white across stubble line

10. Apply snow white hair color at temples and eyebrows. Excite eyebrows, apply spirit gum to make wiry.

Hands

1. Highlight bone structure. Powder

2. Shadow between bones, in webbing, up sides of fingers. Powder.

3. With brush, paint vein highlights.

4. With brush, shadow both sides of veins, sculpt for roundness. Powder.

5. Apply shadow to cracks of finger knuckles. Powder.

6. Bend fingers back (not painfully) and apply highlight to high areas. Powder.

OR make highlight “ring” around each knuckle, shadow for depth

7. apply highlight to fingernails. Irregularly apply goldenrod and dark brown pencil. Apply sealer.

8. stiple true red across knuckles
