Thurs Eve

Wow!!!! What a great show!!! Now, keep it consistent and stay healthy, 'cuz you are about to see crowds in Ilstrup Auditorium like you've never imagined. Drink water. Hum. Speak softly and carry a big show. Eligibility requirements are in effect for Friday -- miss school, miss the show. Plan some down time Friday before the 5:30 call - half an hour nap or book reading: don't run yourself ragged as the show is exhausting you more than the endorphins and adrenaline coursing through your body are letting you realize. G'nite!

Thank Yous

For the program, we think we got all the Thank Yous needed, but I'll send one last offer out to names we should make sure we get in the program. For example, Nancy Sobczak and Valerie Baker helped sew cheerleader costumes, while Mrs. Sander is taking photos of the production (RITS will be burning DVDs). Are there others that have really been instrumental in getting this together that I should know about?

Two left

The show is in pretty good shape! Here are my notes from Saturday for cast, ADs, and me. Crew, Sound, Lights already had theirs emailed to them. If there is something I've been missing that needs to be fixed, please comment.

CAST

DARBUS stand and deliver opening monologue

DARBUS, speak to entire class at some points

CHAD – lip buzz needed – and BIG!!! It’s a 2000 seat auditorium!!! Nice cover, Paul.

JACK – practice booth spin, work the pivot

CHORUS – CONTINUE TO POPULATE THE STAGE AFTER DARBUS HOMEROOM – throughout the scene with T + G + S. 4-5 at a time on stage. (5 time I’ve given this note)

JACK – have shirt on BEFORE get’cha HITG

ZEKE your entry to greet Sharpay and when Troy uses you as an excuse to get away needs a bit more realism. I coudn't read what was supposed to be happening. Practice it with TROY.

CHEER – need you to be sharper ball checkers – cover all loose ones!

NOE and PAUL – switch places in circle around TROY – PAUL’s too tall

PAUL – “sorry I was gone” – even when you were sick -- is exactly why I’m pulling people from songs and the production, not an excuse for a crappy show or being the only one to throw a basketball into the audience.

DARBUS – after the Ryan squirrel bit, notice TAYLOR arriving in Detention, making sure she adopts a character. She enters RC.

DETENTION dragged – all faster, act on the line, not in those massive pauses.

ACTORS – all microphones on all the time. We’re trusting the entire show to the sound crew anyway, might as well do it right.

PAUL – as soon as I get another mic, it’s yours for Cellular fusion. Until then, I chose you because you are consistently singing loudly and accurately already. Keep it up!

CHORUS – in status quo, practice your turns and points near the end of the song (stage right points at stage left, etc.)

CHORUS – needs to be louder during all numbers. Because of mic limitations, we can get individual scenes really well, but you simply need to produce more sound for the large production numbers.

ZEKE – watch Munderloh for cue to start Status Quo, we’re adding repeats to set the stage.

SHARPAY – grab ERIN and ZEKE and practice her entrance from your locker so she is on stage longer and is seen better.

CHEER – you don’t know the pre-boys rushing you off bit yet. Learn it, then be loud or it’s gone.

MARTHA – belt your line during Counting On You

Shit-zu – no “t” and the “i” sounds like the “i” in “it”

GABRIELLA – get equations figured out for Bop to the Top

TAYLOR – get ur laptop

TROY – 3rd notice – exit the b-ball game to the Stage Left wing, exit up through the scene shop, then down the hallway, reentering at back of house

GABRIELLA – Descant “We’re all in this together”
