alumni update, fall cast???

Hey all,

email from Sara Suginaka -- she has a class that meets Wednesdays at 7pm at Boston College -- no theater this fall:( Let's hope her schedule clears up and she can use her tremendous gifts again soon!

email from Kat Riley, she's in town with an improv group, looking to do a workshop @ JM. More on this later. . .

Holly Johnson is doing the lighting design TA with me. She'll get a phenomenal independent study and a boatload of skills. Still need someone 2nd semester.

email from Sarah Boutcher -- she's ready to pass VITAL information about assistant directing with an impossible director. Decker will forward any interested names to her.

Saw Brandon Button at the theater teacher conference today (with PRESIDENT NIELAND!). St. Olaf is going well, Urinetown is this fall (he's not in it), he's going to major in Elem. Ed, with focus on Theater. He'll let us know of his next show. Also heard Joe Dowling, then later toured the new Guthrie with Swegarden.

Note Arij's carpooling plan for CJ's show below.

Who has the scoop on the RCTC show with Ethan and Alexis? Show, dates, roles, background, gossip?

oh, yeah, and the MOST IMPORTANT!!! Is a cast list posted?

CJ update

FROM CJ (wouldn't it be great to get a group to carpool out?):

I don't know if you heard, but I'm fairly ecstatic about earning what amounts to the second male lead, a sorrowful ghost named SHRDLU. I have to smoke and moan and lead the main character, one Mr. Zero, on a journey through the afterlife.
Anyway, its an amazing part, and I'm really looking forward to starting rehearsal. I thought I'd share my (personally) exciting news.
Here are the nitty gritties:
The Adding Machine
By Elmer Rice
Directed by Richard Nimke
October 12-14 & 18-21 at 7:30 p.m.
October 22 at 1:30 p.m.
Kjer Theatre, on the UWEC campus.
Anyway, I either expect an email gushing with praise and adoration, or heartfelt promise to attempt to attend. Or both. One can never have too many emails.

Also of alum excitement, Alexis and Ethan are leads in RECKLESS at RCTC this fall!

Staged Reading

7pm, free reading at the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro of Rick Eisenberg's OPERAPLAY. He's a playwright from New York, who has been here for the past week as part of the workshop process. It's a great script, very funny, with some poignant moments. Hope you can make it!
